SHERIDAN SCHOOL DISTRICT APSCN Data Collection Coordinator JOB DESCRIPTION
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1. 240 day contract (12 month) 2. Job Type: Classified 3. Reports to: Superintendent 4. Salary based on district Classified Salary Schedule for the position of District Bookkeeper 5. 10 days vacation per year of employment. 6. 12 days sick leave per year of employment. 7. 3 days personal leave per year of employment. PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, data management, information technology, or a
related field preferred and/or 4 years of work experience in a business office environment.
- Previous experience in data management, education administration, or a related
role preferred.
- Proficiency in data management systems, spreadsheets, and data analysis software;
familiarity with APSCN systems is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with diverse
stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with precision and a high degree of accuracy.
- Prefer experience with APSCN eSchool Management System and Cognos
reporting. Competent in MS Office Word and Excel, and Google Docs and Sheets.
- Attentive to detail.
- Self-starter, able to work effectively without constant or direct supervision.
- Good moral character.
- Able to set and meet strict deadlines.
- Understands the concept of confidentiality and supports guidelines concerning the
release of public information.
GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):
- Data Management: Oversee the collection, validation, and reporting of student and
staff data to ensure compliance with APSCN guidelines and state mandates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and IT staff to
streamline data processes and resolve any issues related to data entry and reporting.
- Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to district personnel on
data entry procedures, software tools, and best practices for data management.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports to state and federal agencies,
ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of data entries to identify discrepancies
and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Policy Compliance: Stay updated on relevant state and federal data collection
policies and ensure district compliance with these regulations.
- Data Analysis: Analyze collected data to provide insights that inform district planning,
resource allocation, and instructional strategies.
- Standards: General working knowledge of the rules for Standards for Accreditation of
Arkansas as they apply Standards for Accreditation to all public schools and public school districts for the purpose of determining accreditation of the schools and the district.
- Travel: Office-based within the district, with some travel to schools as needed for
training and support.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, CFO, or designee.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS and/or REQUIREMENTS: Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computer hardware and software, office equipment, etc. Intelligence: Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Language Ability: Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondences, technical manuals, trade journals, etc. Requires the ability to prepare reports, forms, system documentation, etc. using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of grammar. Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to give oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of technical or professional languages including computer terminology. Must be able to deliver effective presentations to both small and large audiences.
